Tips for Cooking
Measuring Cups
There are various types of measuring cups, but the most commonly used has a capacity of 200 ml. The measuring cup that comes with a rice cooker is smaller (180 ml). When using the cup-scale imprinted on the inside of a rice cooker, use the rice cooker's cup (180 ml).

Step 1
For measuring dashi soup and liquid seasonings, the common 200-ml measuring cup is used. For exact measurements, view the scale at eye level..

Step 2
When using the scale on the inside of a rice cooker, use a 180-ml measuring cup and not the usual 200-ml measuring cup. When measuring, do not tap the bottom of the cup or force contents into the cup because the measurement will be inaccurate.
